AltGen Employment Services division is looking for an intelligent HR legal eagle to join the team as a General Manager. Our employment services department is growing as we are finding more and more international clients in the renewables space looking for employment service solutions across our South African and Kenyan entities. Our goal is to facilitate and enable international players to quickly enter new markets while we act as the de facto employer of choice. We are on the hunt for an entrepreneurial and commercially minded person, ideally, someone who has a legal and HR tertiary qualification under their belt as well as 5 years’ relevant experience in employment services. The primary responsibilities of the role will include oversight of legal contracts with both clients and candidates, ensuring effective HR processes are followed and implemented on behalf of our clients, and handling HR legal risks which may arise (relating to disciplinary actions and dismissals). It is pivotal that you have a strong understanding of LRA, BCEA and CMMA processes, as well as company and immigration law. Since you will be overseeing the activities of our payroll and administration team, you need to understand the tax, payroll and labour law regulations (predominately in RSA) and translate how these feed into the nuances of Joint and Several Liability with regards to employment and temporary employment services. The end goal is to effectively vet clients and candidates, protect all parties engaged in the contracts while also ensuring an optimal ROI for our firm. You will find yourself reporting to our directors, collaborating closely with the Business Developer and working with our tight-knit team of 3 support staff who would fall directly under your guidance. Most of our employees who fall under our employment services division are on-boarded through our Recruitment division.
