To provide an operational link between the processing centre, the front office and clients including Institutional Investor Companies and non-banking financial institutions. To provide a pro-active problem resolution area for our clients and to provide guidance on legislative requirements as related to the transactions we process Ensuring that all compliance and due diligence aspects are adhered to in line with the SA Reserve Bank and other applicable regulatory bodies and to ensure timeous processing of transactions within cut-off times Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Ensure exchange control compliance on all payments Identify the reason for payment from the supporting documents supplied by a client Verify and analyse supporting documents received per payment Confirm that supporting documents can be linked to declaration by a client Confirm that the supporting documents is compliant with the exchange control rules and regulations To continuously keep abreast of regulatory changes by reading exchange control rulings published in GRG and exchange control circulars Apply complex payments with complex conditions on exchange control approvals in line with relevant requirements per industry and product Ensure transaction is Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliant Analyse supporting documents to link the transaction to the client’s normal business activities Identify FICA and AML affected transactions that would require additional approval to determine internal compliance regulations. Need to make sure that you are fully competent on all compliance Process payments on workflow system Verify if all compliance checks are done on the Workflow system Ensuring that laid down processes and procedures are followed to minimise losses and mitigate risk to the bank. Action transactions on the Workflow system within agreed cut-off timelines per currency Provide regulatory guidance to clients Advise clients on exchange control and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Follow up on queries sent to PC and clients Guide clients with regard to the delivery process. Building client relationships in order that a thorough understanding of the clients business is achieved and the customers value chain is known. Perform routine administration and reporting duties Provide daily stats on all payments processed e.g. payments stopped, non-compliant and regulatory breaches Report compliance breaches to group governance and assurance and engage relevant internal stakeholders Minimum Qualification and Experience Diploma International Trade Diploma, Institute of Banker Certificate, Customer Relationship Management Certificate Preferred: First Degree Job Function: Global Markets Job Family: Foreign Exchange Years: 1-2 Years Experience Description: Basic understanding of forward contracts, future contracts, warrants, Swaps and credit derivatives Job Function: Investment Banking Job Family: Specialised Transactions Years: 3-4 Years Experience Description: Excellent knowledge and understanding of Exchange Control, a comprehensive understanding and application of the Exchange Control Rulings to ensure 100% compliance. Good knowledge of AML procedural requirements. A good knowledge of treasury products and services, Sound understanding of OFAC and TRC and its relevance to all products. A sound understanding of the ZAPS system.
