Job Detail Job Purpose Manages the Distribution Network Asset Creation activities in accordance with industry norms and practices to provide electricity supply to residents, commerce and industry. Key Responsibility Areas Manages the technical activities of the Branch. Plans, controls and manages the activities of the Branch. Actively supports and promotes safety and accident prevention. Assumes responsibility for financial management (capital budgets and grant funding) and the procurement of materials and services. Manages the recruitment of staff, performance, training and conduct of staff. Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, legislation and policies that have a bearing on the functions of the post. Manages resources (plant, equipment and other assets). Maintains, enhances and encourages good public relations, liaises with relevant stakeholders and attends to customer queries. Refines, develops and implements work procedures. Deals with ad-hoc issues that arise within the Branch. Essential Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF7) in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current). Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer. Valid motor vehicle drivers license. 6 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration experience Preferred Requirements Relevant technical or management tertiary qualification (NQF 8 or 9). 8 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration experience Housing Subsidy Yes Leave Yes Medical Aid Yes Other Allowances Market Allowance & Locomotion Pension Fund Yes Remuneration R746 897.07 – R 969 540.85 P.A 13th Cheque Yes
